In this video Dr. K explores why logic is not effective in treating depression and suggests that the flawed assumptions and emotional processing are the underlying issues that need to be addressed instead. Many individuals with depression, including those with subclinical depression, may try to analyze their situation logically to pull themselves out of it, but they often find themselves unable to do so. Moreover, some people with depression may be highly logical and reach the conclusion that there is no reason to live. Dr. K explains that this is because the amygdala becomes hyper-reactive in people with depression, causing them to become hypersensitive to negativity and amplify negative information.

Faust (1808), Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
https://gutenberg.org/files/14591/14591-h/14591-h.htm

Faust is a tragic play in two parts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, usually known in English as Faust, Part One and Faust, Part Two. Nearly all of Part One and the majority of Part Two are written in rhymed verse. Although rarely staged in its entirety, it is the play with the largest audience numbers on German-language stages. Faust is considered by many to be Goethe's magnum opus and the greatest work of German literature.[1]

The earliest forms of the work, known as the Urfaust, were developed between 1772 and 1775; however, the details of that development are not entirely clear. Urfaust has twenty-two scenes, one in prose, two largely prose and the remaining 1,441 lines in rhymed verse. The manuscript is lost, but a copy was discovered in 1886.[2]

The first appearance of the work in print was Faust, a Fragment, published in 1790. Goethe completed a preliminary version of what is now known as Part One in 1806. Its publication in 1808 was followed by the revised 1828–29 edition, the

When Pope Francis took over after the shocking resignation of Pope Benedict, the Catholic Church was in the midst of ongoing internal debates inspired by modern day scandals. The Church itself was being forced to find a way to acknowledge the past while solidifying its future on the world stage. But just what does the future hold - not just for Catholics, but for all of us? When Francis took over as pontiff, Prophecy scholars were quick to point out that visions of an Irish Saint named Malachy centuries ago predicted that Pope Francis would be THE LAST POPE - and, that events during his papacy could pave the way toward Armageddon. Because of the stunning accuracy of his predictions of previous popes that were at one time kept secret at the Vatican, people everywhere wondered, could Malachi's dire prophecy be true? It turns out, the so-called Malachy prophecies also overlap with other, similar predictions for a violent

Do you take it personally when someone gives you constructive criticism?
We feel those anxieties beforehand, when we actually are IN the social situation, it's going to be WAY amplified.

Do you hate the thought of being rejected? Do you take it personally when someone gives you constructive criticism? Do you often feel like a disappointment to others or to yourself? When you were a child, were you constantly getting in trouble because you were unorganized, messy, forgetful, and/or hyper? You may want to check out this video.

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is an often-overlooked ADHD trait. In this video, I describe what RSD is and what it's like to deal with it on a daily basis, which areas of your life can be affected by it, how and why people with ADHD develop RSD, and ways we can "fix" it.

Not to be confused with "emotional dysregulation", RSD is very specific to people with ADHD (and Autistic individuals in some cases.)

*Please note that I am not a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or anything of the like. I'm just an adult with ADHD and I'm REALLY into researching and learning about ADHD. The purpose of my videos is to educate

Still terrified of rejection I developed a socially acceptable persona. I learned how to act confident enough so I wouldn't be teased with super confident kids but not too confident to avoid attention and scrutiny.

Rejection sensitive dysphoria (or RSD) is one of the most disruptive symptoms of ADHD. It's possible you've experienced it and didn't even know where those extreme emotions had originated... in fact, up to 99% of teens and adults with ADHD are more sensitive than usual to rejections. Let's talk through the signs, symptoms and some ways this has shown up in my life and how I've managed it.

RSD showed up for me to be people-pleaser. Also as type of perfectionism and avoiding taking risks or putting myself out there. Plagued by fear of rejection I tried to put myself out there; I found I always self-sabotaged so that I don't get too exposed.

Actually I love this.
I criticize a lot La PEra over Twitter, but tweets over there are not saying this what is being said in this video.
Over twitter she claims that people pleasing is sickness and that we must hate ourselves for being pushover, that it is our choice and that we must nitpick our personality - which only leads to personality disorder.
What is being said in this video - is the correct approach. This is it. This is 100 percent correct approach how to handle difficult narcissistic people - that we do not blame ourselves and that we do not engage in fights with untreated mentally ill people. We do not stay silent to them and we do not change anything inside us - but confirm and affirm ourselves as person and their Cluster B prison mindset in the same time.
I have no idea why twitter is not aligned with you tube?

When you have unrealistic expectations I can remind myself that my role in life isn't to meet those expectations. When you blame me for things I'll no longer defend myself, not feel guilt, or make you feel better. I can change how I respond to you.

I had a spout over Twitter with La Pera for past month. This video is reconciliation.
Over Twitter she claimed that people pleasing is sickness and we must change ourselves and be hysterical to hysterical people - while I tried to explain that people pleasing is not characteristic personality trait, it is conditioning, a reflex, and if we decide to label it as characteristic persona - we will create personality disorder. As CBT instructs us to label trauma and exposure to abuse as personality disorder and cognitive distortion.
In this video she confirms my arguments and facts: that our only job is to validate ourselves, without nitpicking or changing or modulating anything inside our Divergent mind.

Energy can't be changed. The energy of genius, of madness, of the heart. Of the atom. And so it must be lived with. It must be controlled, channeled for good. Held isolated from evil. And somehow lived with, peacefully.

"Conversation of energy law. A principle which states that energy cannot be changed in form but it cannot be either created nor destroyed. And this is true of all energy. And liberty, in case you've forgotten, is a soul's right to breathe. And when it cannot take a long breath, laws are girded too tight. Without liberty, man is a syncope.
Good Will Hunting (1997)

Good Will Hunting: pronunciation mistake
In the scene where Will is in court after the fight at the playground, he quotes Henry Ward Beecher, ending with, "Without liberty, man is a syncope". Except he pronounces "syncope" incorrectly, as sing-kope instead of sing-kuh-pee.

An actor mispronouncing a word may not be a big deal, but when the character they're playing is supposed to be a whizkid supergenius, it sort of stands out.

Perhaps minor, but it's always bothered me.

In today's video I explain how the narcissistic parent can envy and attack the scapegoat child. Then I describe how the enabler parent's emotional unavailability makes this possible. Third, I discuss how the beliefs the scapegoat survivor adopts to survive can create social anxiety today. And watch until the end because I will offer a tactic you can use today to reframe and challenge this social anxiety. The result can be finding it easier to find and establish new safe social connections.

One of the aspects of executive functioning is emotion regulation and is often an impairment for individuals with ADHD. Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is a common symptom of ADHD where an individual experiences big emotions and strong internal and external reactions/behaviors to perceived or real criticism, disapproval from others, possible failure, and rejection. Individuals with RSD can become people pleasers, passive communicators, and their self-esteem can be damaged so much that their sense of who they are as a person becomes fractured, leading to black and white, all or nothing thinking. Watch to the end to learn about "old script" "new script."

As an eleven-year-old girl, being asked to dance by the boy I liked was probably the most exhilarating moment I could imagine. As soon as we started, though, the music picked up and I started to stim dance. I moved the way my body wanted, and in turn, my dance partner stopped and asked me, “What the heck are you doing dancing like that?” When I answered that I was just having fun, he said, “That looks weird,” hid from me, and started laughing with his group of friends. I was humiliated, insulted, and disgraced with myself.

Be careful how you label yourself. You're ingraining that in your brain. If you say I am or I have or I do, you're creating a neural pathway for that connection. Brain is very bad at telling difference what is real and what is not.

We have another question from a friend today, who suffers from Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria - a condition characterized by hyper-sensitivity to criticism, rejection, and conflict. He asks me what my best advice for dealing with criticism and conflict is.

I'll talk about how evolution/natural law can teach us about human nature and help us accept the role we all play, I'll talk about how people make errors and explain why practicing more empathy and detaching from your ego can help you accept and handle criticism and rejection, and I'll also explain why people-pleasing is ultimately a game that you cannot win.

Whether you're hoping to handle criticism better, deal with haters or online trolls, or fix bad relationships, I hope this advice was helpful for all of you who watched!

Emotional health improves when we learn to live in a state of nonresistance to what we cannot control. A complete, comprehensive guide (the only one you'll need IMO) to address one of our culture's most taboo topics - Social Anxiety.

*NOTE* I humbly must admit that I am just another Australian dude on the path, so what I share isn't dogma. I encourage you to attune closely to your own intuition. If this video doesn't provide you the value you seek, or you feel bad vibes from my communication or distortions in how to approach this - listen to your gut feelings. With that said... I am very confident it will provide you with tremendous value.

This video is aimed at anyone who is willing to admit that social anxiety has been a significant problem in their lives. It's geared in a way that my younger self who was suffering existentially with a feeling of alienation from other people largely my whole life would deeply appreciate and would pay thousands of dollars to hear. It is applicable to anyone at any stage of life and is more relevant than ever to address th

In this podcast, Tracy talks about ADHD and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria or RSD. Because Tracy doesn’t struggle with RSD she wasn’t that interested in learning about it but once she realized it was the number one requested topic among the women in her Facebook group, she started doing her research.

Discover why emotion is not mentioned in the DSM, despite the fact that all experts believe that it is an integral part of ADHD.

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. Think anew.
Albert Einstein

A bit of in-depth research on this says that he did not say these exact words, but he did speak along these lines. Interestingly, when he did, he was not speaking abstractly, but speaking of the need for a new ethical perspective arising in and from the human heart and leading to a post-nationalist, post-militarist society because war could not protect us in a world where nations possess atomic weapons.

Einstein himself was asked if he said this, or something like it, and he clarified his thoughts. This is the report on the topic from Albert Einstein - Wikiquote:

The first paragraph here is not cited with specifics; it only says that he said this in the 1940s so we do not know whether these were his exact words:

The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe.

Dreams can come true! At least that’s what British singer/songwriter Gabrielle believed and sang about. She developed a passion for music at a young age but was terribly shy about performing in front of large crowds. Eventually, she overcame her fear and went on to make a name for herself. It wasn’t without its challenges though. From people constantly questioning her about her right eye that she always kept covered, to comments about her weight to a battle with a psychological disorder that nearly ended her career.

On the east coast of Riwon County in South Hamgyong Province there is a 100-metre-wide thick pine forest in over 8-kilometre-long section. This is the Sci-Tech Complex, a great temple of learning for all the people and a multi-functional hub of scientific and technological dissemination. It is on Ssuk Islet in the capital city of Pyongyang.
The exterior of the complex is in the shape of a large atomic structure symbolizing the world of science.
The pen-shaped tower symbolic of science and technology, the sailboat-shaped lodgings, the open-air sci-tech exhibition ground and the fountain park are in good harmony with the complex.

Khokkiri (Elephant) Rock on Pidan Island is a natural rock in Sindo County of North Phyongan Province. It is standing in the southwestern part of Pidan Island and looks like an elephant. Hence the name.
The granite rock is 46 metres long and 15 metres high and its trunk 9 metres round.
A small rock resembling "ivory" is seen in the part of its head and a small hole in the middle part of the trunk.
The Khokkiri Rock is in the seawater or exposed by high and low tides. When it is in the water, it resembles a swimming elephant and when the tideland is exposed, it seems to be drowned in bog.
The rock is of significance in studying the weathering and natural change of granite. It is a natural monument adding beauty to the seaside. Peculiar Geological Spots in Mt. Paektu Area (2)
In the area of Mt. Paektu of Korea there are many geologically peculiar spots formed by volcanic eruptions.
The Paektu Falls is found about two kilometres southeast of the Janggun, the main peak of Mt. Paektu.
The 0.8-metre-wide falls was formed when the lava from several eruptions of the Paektu volcano flowed into the valley to make tiers.
Under the falls is an oval pool dug by cascading water. Its circumference is 20.1 metres and its maximum depth 0.75 metres.
Rare alpine flowers decorate the cliff beautifully in spring and icicles hang in autumn aflame with the glorious tints of foliage, presenting a marvellous scenery of the alpine steppe zone. In winter the falls turns into a hollow ice column with water pouring down inside.

When we think about intimidation, we recognize a quality in that person, otherwise you wouldn't be intimidated by it. Other problem is we are in our own heads. More in, the worse situation becomes. “I don't belong here”.

You're all up in head so you're not able to enjoy experience, you're not able to participate. Externalise your attention. Express appreciation for things we think is cool. Flip side of intimidation is appreciation. Because you're seeing something in someone else positive quality.

Urges or cravings arise but if we're able to tolerate that for some amount of time, surf on top, instead of give in to it, over time this urge will actually go away. Your mind naturally develops tolerance to its own craving.

What we really need to recognize is the desire to switch is a craving in and of itself. Our mind develops tolerance to current activity and then craves a different activity. The real challenge is that our mind desires something else.
